Want to sort your iTunes music collection in different ways, as by file size, the year of issue or the equalizer setting? If the iTunes song-list shows only basic information like time, artist and album name, you can customize policy by adding fields with the check box options.
To get the checkbox options, go to the view menu and choose options; the keyboard shortcut is control-J j command for Windows or for Mac OS X. by activating the check boxes for the items in the list, you can add columns in the iTunes window that display all sorts of information about the media library.

Gadgetwise: Software for lo-fi photography

If pictures do not look like crummy as you would like, there is new software that will wreck them for you.
That's not a bad thing, if you are a devotee of the movement "lo-fi" photography, which considers the effects produced by toy cameras, pinhole cameras and other devices of raw photos to be clever. There are even competitions dedicated to lo-fi.
The software, from a studio in the store of high-end photo software Alien Skin, appropriately called "Lo-fi" and promises to be "retro photography made easy".
Unlike most software filters, lo-fi, which runs on Windows PCs and Mac, will not require Photoshop or a similar product to work. Just start it and drag and drop photos to edit them.
The tricky part is that you drag the photos of what looks like a camera. Camera buttons work filters and features. It is a bit difficult to guess how to use it, so you must watch the video user guide on the website of Lo-Fi.
There are three groups of effects to mix and match. "Film color and saturation controls", "Mood" imitates different types of lenses and "Frame" changes the border of the picture and adding dirt and creases. Or you can press shuffle and randomly change images. If you would like to develop simultaneously a bunch, you give each picture a different look.
Lo-fi also has a button to save your creation or send directly to Facebook or Flickr just save it on your computer. Lo-fi software is $ 29, available for download at www.lofiapp.com.
Of course, some of some of these toy cameras do not cost more than the filter. In addition, you can approximate some effects using standard editing free photo editing software and you'll find similar effects built into some current cameras. If you use a mobile phone, as CameraBag filters offer these types of effects for about $ 2.
But if you have a hankering to transform images the camera — or photos that you've already taken — in lo-fi art, lo-fi might be worth a shot.

-Online fraud consumer complaints dipped nearly 10 percent in 2010, according to an annual report from the Internet Crime Complaint Center, or IC3, a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National White Collar Crime Center.
303,809 Center received complaints from the public last year, down from 336,655 in 2009. If a significantly decreased, tally of 2010 was still the second highest in the history of the report and could even be a blip on the screen.

Complaints about identity theft, cybercrime and fraud involving things like job offers-«bogus sweepstakes and also increased last year.
It seems likely that there will be a return to an upward trend in fraud complaints as the economy improves. Yet there may be some more lasting good forces at work, Mr. Donewar and others say. There is more awareness of online consumer fraud. Financial institutions and payment processors have gotten more aggressive use of anti-fraud technologies and retailers are improving the security of customer data.
"They're doing a better job with better tools," says Adam Chernichaw, a privacy and technology lawyer at White & Case. Fraud is kept at bay and is stated above, he said.
Without doubt, the criminals will make every effort to accommodate all of these defenses. In fact, there is no sign that the battle against online crime is being won. On the contrary, the IC3 report shows that it has become more pervasive, affecting people in all demographic groups and all across the country. Complaints from women, once less and less severe, reaching almost with complaints from men. Young and old are all well represented, with people aged 40-59 now provide most of the complaints.

Gadgetwise: Apple Announces the new MacBook Pro
Apple announced today an upgrade to its line of MacBook Pro laptops. The highlights? New faster processors, more powerful graphics processors, an HD camcorder and a new port for a technology that Apple is calling Thunderbolt.
Aesthetically, the new professionals seem very similar to their predecessors. There are still 13-, 15 and 17 inches (starting at $ 1,199, $ 1799 and $ 2499, respectively), and still have the same unibody aluminum construction and full-width glass screen. Look, you'll see a lot that is different.
Is under the hood where things change. The new Intel Core i5, and Core i7, dual-core and quad-core chip that promise up to twice the performance of the chips in earlier models.
One of the new features of the Intel chip has an integrated graphics processor. But in 15-and 17-inch MacBook Pro, Apple doubled down on the graphics by the addition of a graphics chip from AMD Radeon discrete. Models with both chips perfectly and automatically switch between the two processors, depending on desired performance.
There's also a new camera, which can transmit FaceTime videos in 720 p resolution and display it in a new widescreen format.

Is the latest addition to the line MacBook Pro which is perhaps the most intriguing: the Thunderbolt. Apple has worked with Intel on its light peak project to create a new high-speed data and display the port that would be adaptable to existing rules on the connection. The MacBook Pro are the first computer to feature the technology, but it will roll out across the builders of the next year.
Thunderbolt performance specifications are surprising: at 10 Gbps, is twice as fast as USB 3.0, 12 times as fast as FireWire 800 and 20 times faster than USB 2.0. As Intel calculated in their press release, a Thunderbolt connection can transfer a full-length high-definition movies in 30 seconds.
Thunderbolt is also a Mini DisplayPort native, so that any display with that connection can connect easily. HDMI, DisplayPort and VGA, DVI display may use tabs. Thunderbolt also provides up to 10 Watts of power to peripheral devices and can be daisy chained up to six devices.
