GeoHot asks donations to fight the lawsuit Sonys PS3 hacking

PlayStation 3 jailbreaker George Hotz, also known as GeoHot, is asking for donations to help pay for legal defense costs in its fight against Sony. He specifically calls the giant electronic a bully and outlines why he needs
Media: financial aid, need your help. This is the first time I've ever asked. Please, if you support this cause, help me out and spread the word.
I want to, by the time this goes to trial, to have some of the lawyers strike hard facing in the business of Sony.
Together, we can help fix the system
Here are the donations for the legal defense only
I checked with my lawyers before this setting.
If you have another way to donate more than the money, let me know

GeoHot says he would hate to lose this case because of resource hungry, and so he needs the support of the masses to set a precedent for all console and closed systems to come. He insists that Sony has sued the guy wrong because he is an advocate against piracy, and does not distribute the copyrighted work of anyone but their own. His goal for the PS3 is to provide users with a lawful path that the homebrew should be legal to previous cases of court-console. He also observes that its rap videos in which he attacks Sony was just an attempt of humor and he really take all the legal issue very seriously.

Although you do not specify what GeoHot should donate, he suggests that Sony has five lawyers and has two, and that he already has racked up over $ 10,000 in legal bills. He also notes that the Electronic Frontier Foundation has provided that some legal help and donations will go to their left as well. If Sony were to settle, "I want the settlement terms to include OtherOS on all PS3s and apologies on the PlayStation blog remove it forever," he notes. "It would be too good PR for Sony, Lord knows who could use it. I'm also willing to accept a trade, a homebrew for path legit knowledge of how to stop the new firmware to be decrypted. "

Sony legal attacks against hackers who issued the PS3 root key and custom firmware began last month. Group known as fail0verflow is accused of posting a crude hack in December 2010 after finding the codes for the PS3. It was perfected by GeoHot weeks later when he independently and published the main key of PS3. The resulting hack allow homebrew apps and pirated software to run unmodified on consoles. Sony still is threatening to sue anyone posting or distributing code jailbreak PS3, despite the fact that the company tweeted accidentally security key to PlayStation 3. Sony's official position is that if you crack your PS3, you will get banned.
