Milestone creator Dwayne McDuffie dies

omics writer, producer of animation and founder of Milestone Media Dwayne McDuffie died.

According to Comic Book Resources, the writer has died due to complications from a surgery on a Monday evening

The Detroit native - who was known for his battles against the stereotypical representations of black people in comics - began his career in the late '80s as part of the editorial team of Marvel Comics'.

He moved into writing and later founded Milestone, whose role was to expand the role of minorities in comics and the industry itself.

Milestone has seen the introduction of characters, including static image and Xombi DC Universe.

He later expanded into the field of animation. The script for the recent All Star Superman was an animated adaptation of his latest projects.
